Her clinical and research expertise includes obesity medications, metabolic bariatric surgery, dietary behaviours, and the biological mechanisms influencing appetite and weight regulation. She holds a Master of Science in Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa, where her research examined appetite regulation and the physiological mechanisms influencing weight, food cravings, and incretin-hormones (including GLP-1).

Before joining Obesity Canada, Jennifer spent 18 years at The Ottawa Hospital Bariatric Centre of Excellence. She was a lead author of the Medical Nutrition Therapy chapter of the 2020 Canadian Adult Obesity Clinical Practice Guidelines and has contributed to international nutrition and obesity care guidelines and scientific publications.
